Hello. As you know Covid changes happen quickly. We continue to work with the health department for any needed school schedule changes. We will continue to monitor and hopefully finish the semester without school interruptions. We have been notified that 1 High School, 3 JrHS school, 1 elementary student and 1 elementary school teacher has confirmed Covid positive. The Health Department has been notified and we will continue to work with them and monitor the situation. All others identified from contact tracing will be contacted and quarantined. Please continue to communicate to your child the importance of social distancing, wearing masks properly and washing their hands. Also, if your child is not feeling well, is symptomatic and/or has been tested for Covid please stay at home until cleared to return to school. We will continue to be transparent and communicate building specific information in the future. We will also continue revisiting our safe procedures to maintain an optimal safe learning environment. We hope for the best but know this may happen in the future but all of us following safety procedures will reduce exposure. School WILL be in session as normal but mitigation recommendations from health department is a possibility.

Hello LCUSD9 school community. As you are aware, last week we had one of the highest levels of Covid positive and quarantines of the school year. This is most likely caused by Thanksgiving holiday break. The health department was preparing to have us possibly mitigate our current school schedule and possible change our full day attendance at the JrHS/HIgh School buildings. Luckily, numbers leveled off and we will now be monitoring the situation and NOT mitigating. School schedules will be as normal this week. Schedules and times will remain the same as before. Beginning Wednesday the JrHS/ High School will begin their exam schedule. Once again we are trying to remain transparent and keep communication open. We will continue to be proactive, do extra cleaning and monitor the situation. Our goal as always this year will to keep kids in school as much as possible. We are half way through the school year and know working together we can continue this path. Happy Holidays. School will be in session as normal tomorrow.

Unfortunately, with several new Covid cases in the district and working with the health department’s recommendation to mitigate: we will reschedule our Christmas Concert that was originally scheduled for tonight. As you are aware dealing with Covid related issues has made school, sports and activities very fluid. We will continue to monitor and work with the health department for any addition mitigations, postponements and/or cancellations. Our goal is to meditate what we need to in order to keep our school doors open. Currently this is the only Postponement at this time. School WILL be in session as normal. Stay safe, Mr. Keeney
