Congratulations to our JH soccer team and coaches on picking up 2 wins this week at Coolidge Middle School in Granite City, a 7-2 win on Tuesday and then they went to Mascoutah on Thursday and won 1-0. This is the first year we have had a junior high soccer team funded by the school and it is being coached by Cameron Keepper and Jesse Essenpreis. They will play at home on Monday April 11th at 4:00 vs Alton Middle School. Keep it up Greyhounds!

Kindergarten - 2nd grade will have their program "Feelin Good" on Tuesday, May 3rd at 6:30 p.m. in the LHS Gym. 3rd-5th grades will have their program "Kidflix" on Tuesday, May 17th at 6:30p.m. in the LHS Gym. Today's home high school softball game is canceled, practice will be be at 3:30.
Today's jh track meet at Mater Dei high school is on and will start at 4:00. There will be no shot or discus because of wet field conditions.
We are excited to announce that our high school varsity boys baseball team has been given the chance to play at the Gateway Grizzlies stadium vs New Athens on Tuesday May 3rd at 6:00. To purchase tickets you can contact players and coaches. Also some tickets are available in the high school office and concession stand at their April home games. Tickets are general admission and cost $4 a piece. We have been given 250 tickets to sell to help pay for the use of the field and to help the baseball team make some money as a fundraiser. Starting tomorrow, LJHS students will be taking the IAR Test (Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday). Students will be receiving snacks during testing, and we have an incentive-based system built into testing that can earn students a Six Flags trip for their effort! In order to receive a Six Flags ticket, students taking IAR testing will simply need to:
Work hard on all tests
Work for predetermined amounts of time on all tests
Show their work during Math testing
Come to school on time with their Chromebook charged, with headphones

Good morning, junior high IAR testing starts tomorrow. Please make sure Chromebooks are fully charged, students get a good night sleep, have a healthy breakfast, and bring earbuds/headphones to school with them.

Spring high school and junior high team pictures are canceled tomorrow. The next available date with the photographer was April 21st, so we will take HS baseball, softball, track and JH track and soccer professional team and individual pics that afternoon of April 21st. We will send out a reminder that week.
8th grade soccer players will have their individual pictures taken for banners tomorrow(Tuesday April 5th) 1st hour, so please make sure all 8th grade soccer players bring their uniforms to school for their pictures 1st hour

We are canceling our home game with Maryville Christian on Monday April 4th and will instead play at Marissa on Monday at 4:30 since it is a conference game that must be played this season.

Good morning Greyhounds!!! Next week is Illinois Autism Awareness Week. We are asking all students and staff to wear blue next Wednesday, April 6 in honor of our families, friends, and neighbors who have autism or who love someone that does.
This is a reminder that the 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade students will be taking the IAR & ISA assessments next week! Below are the testing dates for next week:
-Monday, April 4th
-Tuesday, April 5th
-Wednesday, April 6th
-Thursday, April 7th (5th grade only)
-04/08-13 will be make-up dates for testing
Parents, we appreciate your help in ensuring your child is well rested, eats a good breakfast and arrives to school on time each testing day. Any student who is absent will be pulled from class following the original testing session to ensure the required testing is complete.
As a special incentive to have the best attendance, effort, and results, we will be rewarding the top 3 classes with the highest percentages of students on time and present for school on the testing days next week some rewards! The #1 class will receive a pizza party! The #2 class will receive an ice cream party! And the #3 class will receive fruit snacks!
