Attention LGS 5th Grade parents and students!!

JH Boys and JH Girls Basketball Open Gyms will start Sept 8th and continue every Tuesday and Thursday through the end of September from 7:00-8:30 in the Elementary Gym. Any boy or girl in 5th thru 8th grade can come to open gym that attends Lebanon and is considering going out for the basketball teams. Their first official practice is Monday Oct 3rd. Reminder that this is a privilege to attend, so it can be taken away from a student for poor behavior at the open gym.

Seniors: Acorn Equality Scholarships are available to students of the LGBTQ+ community or children of parents who are members of the LGBTQ+ community. The deadline is September 23 and the applications are at acornequalityfund.org.

Our high school and junior high cross country teams have both started their competitive seasons! The high school girls took on the New Athens Invite on Monday before joining the junior high team for Saturday’s Mascoutah Kick-Off! Good evening! Please remember that the Josten's representative will be at the High School tomorrow morning. He will be collecting order forms for class rings and graduation materials (sophomores/seniors). There are additional packets in the High School office.

Juniors: The PSAT/NMSQT is a practice PSAT. The test will be administered to students who sign up and pay the $18.00 test fee. This is also the National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test and the only way to compete for the National Merit Scholarship. Students can register and pay with Mrs. Schorfheide starting Tuesday, September 6. The test will be administered on October 12, at school, from 8:15-noon.

SWIC Granite City Campus is hosting Manufacturing Day September 23 from 8:00-2:00. This is a fun interactive day that allows our students to learn more about manufacturing careers. Congratulations to our boys soccer team for winning 2-1 over Roxana last night in the Roxana Invitational Championship! Congratulations players and coaches! Also congratulations to Sophomore Chloe Nordmann for being named to the all-tournament team at the Marissa/New Athens Volleyball Invitational on Saturday. The volleyball team lost in 3 sets to New Athens and in 2 sets to Gibault on Saturday. Keep working hard ladies

Thursday Night Athletic Events Recap Congratulations to the boys soccer team for their 1-0 win of Alton HS JV team at the Roxana Invitational. Come out and support them Saturday night at Roxana as they take on Roxana at 7:00 for the tournament championship! GO GREYHOUNDS!!! JV Volleyball and Varsity Volleyball lost in 2 sets to Greenville in their home opener last night. You need to come out and watch how hard these girls play, they are fun to watch! JH softball lost to Breese 21-8 JH baseball lost to Breese 8-5 (both teams continue to improve) Today Varsity Volleyball travels to New Athens for 2 games in their tournament Saturday: JH and HS cross country run at Mascoutah at 8 am, Volleyball goes back to New Athens to finish the New Athens tournament and soccer plays at 7:00 pm in the championship at Roxana Invitational Come out and support our GREYHOUNDS!
