This message is to clarify the previous information sent out this morning. Elementary and Junior High students will need to be accompanied by an adult to sports games. Students who do not participate in, but are attending as fans, basketball, volleyball, baseball, softball and soccer (these are the current and remaining sports for the year) need to have an adult present.

Elementary and Junior High students will need to be accompanied by an adult to all extracurricular activities after-school. We have had recent issues that require us to reinstate these attendance rules. Any student who is absent from school cannot attend extracurricular activities on the day they are absent.

These ladies are battling at IHSA Sectionals today. The afternoon session is about to begin. Good luck Emily and Neela!

Athletic Events today and this weekend Tonight NHS Cancer Awareness Night at tonight's boys basketball game vs New Athens at 6:00. Tonight's proceeds will go to an LCUSD#9 employee who has been battling cancer. Also our intramural cheerleaders will perform at halftime, so come out and support our programs tonight! Saturday HS girls bowling team members Emily Nordmann and Neela Missey will bowl at Bel Air Bowl in the IHSA Sectional at 9:00. Good luck ladies and coaches! HS girls basketball will play in the first round of the IHSA Regional at Christ Our Rock Lutheran vs Christ Our Rock Lutheran at 5:00. Good luck ladies and coaches! JH Volleyball 8th grade team will play at the Columbia Tournament, their 1st game is at 9:45 am vs Millstadt, Good Luck in the tournament!

Yesterday the high school students participated in our first annual career day. Students rotated through classrooms with guest speakers and visited static displays from colleges, businesses, and military representatives. Some of our guests were the SWIC Machining Department with whom the students made personalized name plates, sprinkler fitters union, cyber security, law enforcement, agricultural research, teaching, nursing, medical research, and more.

Tomorrow night, February 10, 2023 the National Honor Society is hosting their annual Cancer Night at the high school boys, 6:00pm, basketball game . All proceeds from the basket raffle, 50/50, bake sale, and concessions will be going to a Lebanon staff member who is a cancer fighter. Please come join us and help us help one of our Greyhound family members.

PreK and kindergartner are celebrating 100 days today!!

I will have a meeting tomorrow(Thur Feb 9th) with all girls who are interested in playing high school softball this spring during advisory time at 2:30 in Mr. Cruthis's Health classroom. We are in need of more girls to play in order to have enough to field a team this spring, so please attend this meeting as it will likely decide if we will move forward with the season or be forced to cancel the season. Monday night we recognized our 16 winter sport seniors and their parents. Those sports included our boys basketball, girls basketball, boys bowling, girls bowling and band. Thank you to our seniors and parents for all that you have done for our district. Good luck in your future endeavors. Go Greyhounds!

High School girls basketball will play their 1st game of IHSA Regionals at Christ Our Rock Lutheran High School on Saturday Feb 11th at 5:00 pm. Good Luck Ladies! HS boys basketball regional opponent and place of the game will be determined late Friday afternoon by the IHSA

Reminder that we will have senior night tonight after the hs girls game vs Bunker Hill. Game will start at 6:00, boys basketball, girls basketball, bowling and band seniors will be recognized at approximately 7:00. HS boys basketball will play Bunker Hill after senior recognition at approximately 7:30. Come out and thank our 13 seniors tonight for these 4 sports.

Congratulations to Senior Emily Nordmann and Sophomore Neela Missey for qualifying for the IHSA Bowling Sectional at Bel Air Bowl. Emily placed 8th overall and was the 2nd individual on a non-qualifying team and Neela placed 15th overall and was the 4th individual on a non-qualifying team. Overall the team placed 5th, 1 spot shy of qualifying as a team for Sectionals. Great job team and good luck to Neela and Emily next Saturday at the Belleville East IHSA Sectional.

Spring sports will be starting soon. This is a reminder to make sure your athlete has a current sports physical and all athletic paperwork turned in if they are going to participate in high school baseball, softball or track this spring. We will have our parent/player coach meeting on Wednesday Feb 15th at 7:00 in the HS gym. Sports fee is $60

Senior Night!!! Come celebrate our seniors for band, girls basketball, boys basketball, girls bowling and boys bowling on Monday night Feb 6th. We will recognize girls basketball at 6:00 before their game against Bunker Hill We will then recognize boys basketball, boys and girls bowling and band just before the varsity boys game at approximately 7:00. Come out and support our seniors!
