Reminder that tryouts will begin tomorrow for jh baseball and jh softball.
Jh baseball will begin at 3:45 on the high school baseball diamond and will end at 6:00, jh softball will start at 6:30 on the high school softball diamond and end at 8:00. We ask that players show up early to meet with the Athletic Director to make sure that they have a current valid athletic physical, athletic paperwork completed in the school registration packet and have paid the $50 sports fee. If any of these 3 things are not completed, the athlete cannot tryout until they are completed. The sports fee can be paid online on the myschoolbucks app or it can be paid at the first practice.

Before doing so, it is important to make sure that registration is complete. Please take a moment to sign into your PowerSchool account and make sure all your forms are submitted & approved (with the exception of Forms J and Z).
Please note that students will ONLY be assigned if registration is complete.

JH softball open fields this week will be Wednesday, July 15 and Thursday, July 16 both nights 6:30-800pm. This is for any girl in 5th-8th grade who wants to try out for the JH softball team. We hope everyone has been enjoying their summer. This email is for anyone who has student/athletes in grades 5th-12th. This is a reminder as we start heading towards the start of school and fall athletics to make sure your athlete has an up to date physical and that you have their athletic paperwork filled out on the online school registration for the upcoming school year. 5th-8th grade students are eligible to come out for baseball and softball. Also reminding everyone that if your athlete is going to play junior high baseball or junior high softball that we have our parent, player coach meeting next Tuesday July 14th at 6:30 in the high school gym. JH athletic fee($50) can be paid at the meeting or online on the myschoolbucks app. The athletic director will go over information about the upcoming school year and season and then the coaches will talk to parents about the upcoming season, expectations and rules for playing on their team this year. The 1st day of practice will be on Monday July 20th, times will be announced at the meeting. We will have our high school parent, player, coach meeting on Tuesday Aug 4th at 6:30 in the high school gym for Junior High Cross Country/High School Cross Country, Volleyball and Boys Soccer. This meeting will follow the same format as the junior high meeting. Sign up deadline for the NMSQT test is October 1! The PSAT/NMSQT is the qualifying test for the National Merit Scholarship Program, one of the largest academic recognition programs in the U.S. High school juniors can earn recognition as Commended Student, Semifinalist, or Finalist, which can lead to scholarships.
The test is $20 for junior students interested. Sign up in the office!

The Lebanon FFA traveled with the Wesclin FFA to Springfield this week for the 98th annual FFA State Convention. We attended the career & college expo, made new friends from other FFA chapters, and we got to cheer on our very own, Blake Goetter, as he received his State Degree! Blake is our first State Degree recipient since we rechartered in 2020. It was a great week! The Illinois State FFA Degree is the highest honor a member can achieve at the state level. Awarded to less than 3-4% of Illinois FFA members, it recognizes exceptional work in Supervised Agricultural Experiences (SAEs) and significant leadership and community involvement.

Our Junior High Boys Basketball team just wrapped up a fantastic couple of days competing at the Greenville Tournament! 👏
The boys battled hard in every single game, posting a strong 5-3 record overall. They showed incredible grit and determination, with their only defeats being absolute nail-biters against Woodlawn and Bethalto, and a heartbreaking sudden-death overtime loss to Carlyle.
More than the wins, it was a great couple of days of competing, pushing each other, and getting better in the gym. Way to work, boys! We are proud of your effort! 💪

Had a great night Tuesday night recognizing our softball, baseball and track athletes at our final sports recognition night of the 2025-2026 school year. Again I want to thank the administration for supporting our student athletes, our athletic booster club for providing desserts and drinks that night and all their hard work throughout the year raising funds and supporting our teams. Also I want to thank Lori Reinneck, my assistant, for all the help this year, Karla Halde, our athletic trainer, for treating our injured athletes and helping keep the others healthy. Also thank you to the parents for coming out and supporting our teams throughout the year. The fall sports seasons will be here before you know it. Come out and support the high school boys basketball team tomorrow(Saturday) from 10-2 at their car wash on campus by the softball field. Cost is whatever you want to donate, this money will be used to pay for their McKendree team camp in 2 weeks. They would appreciate the opportunity to wash your vehicle and have it looking good for the weekend!
