On Friday, August 7th Governor Pritzker announced that St. Clair County was now one of 13 counties in the state of Illinois that are now considered at “warning level” for Covid Virus. Large portions of new cases are in school age children. Additionally, the St. Clair County Health Department and Regional Office of Education advised each and every school district in St. Clair County to begin the school year with full remote learning. Lebanon CUSD#9 will begin the school year full remote. We will continue to reassess and work with IDPH and the ROE on a daily basis in order to work towards in person instruction. We understand the importance of students being in class and will make every attempt to maximize student achievement. We are working through a great many details in a short amount of time and will send more information as soon as possible. Please remain flexible in this unprecedented time.

Lebanon Elementary School will conduct its annual pre-kindergarten screening for the 2020-2021 school year on August 5th and 6th. Appointments must be made in advance by emailing Mrs. Leslie Stief, EC/PreK Teacher, at LStrobel@LCUSD9.org. Appointments are available each day from 1:15-4:15.
The screening is free and available to all preschool age children who will not be eligible to attend Kindergarten in the fall and will be three (3) years old on or before September 1, 2020. The screening lasts approximately one hour.
Parents must bring a birth certificate from the county in which your child was born. The hospital announcement will not be accepted. You will be asked to complete a form covering the early development of your child.
The school’s goal is to assist parents in making sure that their child will be ready for kindergarten and prepare them for future school experiences. The screening will cover areas of fine and gross motor skills, concepts, and communication as well as vision and hearing. Strengths and weaknesses will be identified in all of these areas and will be discussed with the parents at the end of the screening. In order to be eligible, you must participate in the screenings, so please email and make an appointment as soon as possible.

Hello Lebanon School Community. As we finalize plans for the 2020-2021 school year we just wanted to share a brief overview of the upcoming school year. Our first priority is the safety of our students and staff. We will continue to work with the State Board of Education and Health Department to provide an optimal learning environment. Additionally, we have determined that the best course will be to have in person instruction each and every day for all students. We will also be offering a remote learning option as well. Tentative plans may change due to state mandates at anytime, so please remain flexible. School will begin for students on Wednesday, August 19th. In order to comply with phase 4 restrictions we will need to adjust school arrival and departure times in order to allow all students to attend each day. We will have a finalized schedule and more details by early next week. Thank you for your continued support!
Yours in education,
Return to School Committee

Any girl interested in playing HS Volleyball:
We are starting our summer workouts on Monday!! Here is the schedule for the next 4 weeks:
Mondays: 3pm-6pm
Tuesdays: 8am-10am
Wednesdays: 3pm-6pm
Thursdays: 8am-10am
Fridays: 8am-10am
These workouts are only for LHS students 9th-12th grade.
Due to COVID here are a few things that will be taking place in order to do our workouts/practice:
Athletes will need to arrive 15 minutes early, they will have there temperature taken, and questionnaire filled out, and hand washing prior to doing anything.
No locker rooms or water fountains will be available. Bleachers will not be out. Everyone will space out their equipment and be required to bring plenty of water. Please make sure all of your items are labeled! Each athlete will need hand sanitizer in their bags to use during water breaks. I plan to have some available, just in case!
Please bring indoor and outdoor tennis shoes. We will try to do some activities outside so nobody gets overheated.
I know this is a different time than what we are used to, but I am glad we are moving in the right direction toward something normal. Please stay safe and healthy!
I really miss all of you ladies! Can't wait to see everyone Monday!
Coach Shirley
