The HS boys basketball game tonight has been cancelled due to the weather.

The JrH Volleyball and JrH Basketball games scheduled for tomorrow evening have been cancelled due to the weather.

Lebanon School community, unfortunately our rural roads are still very slick and dangerous for our buses. Also, some city streets and sidewalks are still covered in dangerous ice. We will be taking a snow day tomorrow, Thursday February 18th. Tomorrow’s snow day will be made up and added back to the calendar. We will continue to clean our parking lots and sidewalks in preparation for school on Friday. Please stay safe.

Black History Month Fact for February 17: In 1688 the Quakers wrote the initial protest to end slavery. At that time the protest statement was initially thought too serious for local leaders and sent on to the Philadelphia Yearly Meeting but nothing was done for another 88 years.

Hello. Tomorrow, Wednesday, February 17th will be our regular scheduled remote day. Our teachers are prepared and ready for the Wednesday normal remote day. Please log on and attend as normal tomorrow. Also, meal pick up will be moved to Thursday morning. Stay warm and safe.

Good Morning Lebanon! Today is Tuesday, February 16th, 2021 This day in history: 1923 Howard Carter opens the inner burial chamber of Egyptian Pharaoh Tutankhamun's tomb and finds the sarcophagus. Historical figure spotlight: Rosa Parks was born on February 4, 1913. On December 1, 1955, she boarded a city bus in Montgomery, Alabama and sat in the middle, where Black passengers in that city were allowed to sit unless a white person wanted the seat. As the bus filled with new riders, the driver told Parks to give up her seat to a white passenger. She refused and was arrested. Her arrest sparked a major protest. For more than a year, most Black people in Montgomery stood together and refused to take city buses. The Montgomery Bus Boycott didn’t end until a 1956 Supreme Court decision ended racial segregation on public transportation throughout the United States. All high school students should have filled out a spring athletics survey in your homeroom class. Please do so if you haven’t already! Attention athletes: all practices and games are cancelled for Monday, February 15th.

Hello. Just a reminder NO school tomorrow, Monday 15th in honor of President’s Day. Also, we will keep an eye on the weather. We still have emergency make up days built into the school calendar if we need to use them. Any snow day or emergency day will cause us to call off school but will be made up at the end of the year. We will still take snow days for several reasons; not all student have the ability to remote, also not being able to remote our special education services to students and for the safety of our teachers that remote from school. These are why we will continue to follow our normal snow day procedures. We will let you know of any school schedule changes ASAP. Please stay warm and safe.

Black History Month Fact for February 12: Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. was jailed 29 times for acts of civil disobedience and other charges that were made up or unequal such as being jailed for driving 30 mph in a 25 mph zone.

Teachers at Lebanon Jr High have encouraged the community to partake in celebrating by sending in pictures of their family to put on display.
