Varsity Athlete of the Week:
This week, we are proud to recognize Brilee Davenport for varsity. As a freshman making her first official start, Brilee has shown tremendous effort and determination, especially in the back row. She currently leads the team in aces this season and continues to be a key contributor on the court.
JV Athlete of the Week:
For JV, our athlete of the week is Alexis Emmerich-Tomlin. In her first year with the program, Lexi has done a phenomenal job learning the game and making an impact. Her performance in the back row has been nothing short of dominant, and she continues to grow each week.

Scored both game winning goals in our 2 tournament wins at Greenville this past week.
JH Baseball athletes of the weeks
This week’s players of the week were selected because of their work ethic, positive attitude, and being a good teammate to everyone around them.
Maverick Wilkins played pretty good defense and picked up a big RBI hit this past week. Although that is important to him and his team, Maverick was selected for a different reason. Maverick works extremely hard and is always a good teammate. Maverick leads by example when it comes to hard work and positivity.
Brody Colon is the other player of the week. Brody has not played baseball in several years and has done a good job this year working hard. Brody is similar to Maverick in that, he brings a good work ethic every day, never complains, and leads by example.
JH Softball
My athlete of the week has to be Hayden Venhaus. This week she pitched against Breese and had 16 STRIKEOUTS!! She broke her record of 15 which she got earlier this year. So happy we will have her another year for Junior High as she is just a 7th grader. Congratulations Hayden!
JH and HS Cross Country
Both coaches wanted to recognize all team members this week for the hard work they put into their first 2 meets last week. HS ran at New Athens last Monday and at Mascoutah this past Saturday with some new team members getting a chance to race in their first race. Addison Allen ran a PR of 24.55 and placed 69th out of 131 runners. Also on the boys side Kaiden Wheeler ran 19.11 & placed 49th out of 165, Zander DeMello ran 20.55 and placed 99th out of 165, Amjad Adams ran 21.42 and placed 108th out of 165 and Nathan Wheeler ran 25:09 and place 150th out of 165! JH ran at home this past Thursday and again at Mascoutah on Saturday. Josie Casperson finished 5th in the varsity race on Thursday and Ava Garbe placed 27th out of 136 runners on Saturday at Mascoutah. Keep working hard everyone.

We held our 1st jh cc meet in 15 years out at Horner Park and it went very well. Lebanon does not have enough runners to count in the team score but it was great to see Ava Garbe, Josie Casperson, David Ruth and Steven Shirley run their 1st race of the year. Josie Casperson, a 5th grader, had quite the 1st race of her junior high career by finishing 5th over all in the girls varsity division. Ava Garbe, an 8th grader, finished 12th and 5th graders Steven Shirley and David Ruth finished 25th and 26th in the varsity race. Good job Greyhounds!
JH Softball knocked of Breese last night 3-0 behind a 1 hit, 16 strikeout performance by 7th grader Hayden Venhaus. The girls move to 8-1 on the season
JH Baseball fell to Breese last night 13-0 which puts them at 2-7 on the season.
HS Soccer lost to Salem 3-0 in the Greenville Tournament which makes them 1-1 on the young season. They will play Saturday at Greenville Tournament vs Pinckneyville at 11:00. Good luck Greyhounds!
Congratulations to our JH softball team for a 5-1 win over Carlyle last night and improving to 8-1 on the season.
JH baseball fell to Carlyle last night to 14-4 and go to 2-6 on the year.
JV Volleyball had their season opener last night and fell to Patoka in 2 sets.
Varsity volleyball fell to Patoka in 3 sets.
Volleyball has their first game tonight and it is at home at 6:00, wear your purple and come support these ladies who have been working very hard for 2 weeks!

Also congrats to our HS cross country runners for running well in their 1st meet of the year last night at New Athens. Junior Kaiden Wheeler was our top finisher for the boys with a time of 18:52.5 and Addison Durbin was our top finisher for the girls with a time of 22:38.1

JH Baseball Athlete of the Week
Masen Davis had a great week for the Greyhounds. He was 3-6 at the plate with 2 RBI. Masen also pitched 5 1/3 innings on Saturday against Albers Elementary. He pitched a great game. Besides pitching very well this week, he also played shortstop and centerfield. Masen has shown great leadership for a young player this year.
Cross Country Athlete of the Week
Kaiden Wheeler- He shows leadership, athletic ability, kindness, picking up of athletes and encouraging others. All traits we would like to see in all of our athletes.

From our first weeks of practices and games:
My first player of the week is Kennedie Evans. She is from Peoria and is new to our district. She is a seventh grader and wears jersey #24. Softball is her favorite sport. She likes to play shortstop and 1st base. Kennedie has played softball for 9 years with 5 of those years being travel ball. Her hobbies are: sports, riding dirt bikes, fishing and hunting. This year she is excited to meet new people and experience a new school. Her goals are to play softball for the Texas Longhorns and play in the AUSL. Her dream job is to be a crop specialist. Kennedie is a great addition to our team and our Lebanon Greyhound family. Congratulations Kennedie!
Harper Burress is also player of the week. She proudly wears jersey #22 and her favorite position is shortstop. Harper is in the 6th grade. She loves playing softball, basketball, volleyball and running track and field. Harper also likes to sing, act, and dance. This year her goal is to improve in softball. Harper is a true grit player. She gives 110% and is always striving to improve. Harper is a great role model for our younger girls. What she brings to the team is a very humble maturity, leadership, and a lot of fun! Harper will succeed in anything she sets her mind to do on the field, on the court, on the stage, and especially in life. Congratulations Harper!
Hayden Venhaus wears #9 and is a 7th grader. She is one of our top two pitchers. With 13 innings pitched she has walked 7 batters and struck out 27. On offense, her average is .500 with 6 hits, including a single, 3 doubles, and 2 triples. She has 7 RBIs on the year so far. Hayden is a hard worker and a great leader. She has confidence and says this year we’re going to state!! Hayden is a fun teammate and she leads by example. Congratulations Hayden!
Khloe Munton is my next player of the week. She is one of our 8th graders. She wears the #4 jersey and bats in the 4 spot. Khloe is tough! Most of the time you’ll find her behind the plate catching. She has caught in some tough games with the heat especially. When I ask her how she’s doing and check to see if she needs a replacement, she declines and says she’s fine. Khloe’s average is .615 and she has 8 RBIs so far with 8 hits. Khloe is strong and is our power-hitter. I believe she could send one over the fence this year! Congratulations Khloe!

6th grader Jamaar Brown, during the 1st week of games Jammar went 5 for 7 with 2 doubles, 6 RBI and 3 runs scored. Jamaar pitched 2 innings allowing one run and striking out one hitter.
6th grader Michael Donovan, during the 1st week Michael went 6 for 7 with 2 doubles, 2 RBI and 4 runs scored and he also pitched one scoreless inning striking out 3 hitters.
5th grader Owen Cotts, during this past week, Owen brought the hustle as he is always going full speed and is fearless against the older players. Owen hit the ball hard against tough pitchers this week.
5th grader Aiden Brockhahn, during this past week, Aiden collected his first varsity hit which was a double against and 8th grade pitcher. Aiden brings a positive attitude everyday.
