School District Lebanon CUSD #9 Board Member Vacancy
Lebanon CUSD #9 is accepting applications to fill a vacancy resulting from a resignation. The term will be from the date of appointment through April 2029 elections.
At LCUSD #9, we believe that education should take place in a fully inclusive environment with equal opportunities for all students and promote high expectations and academic success. This success will be accomplished by the dedicated staff which provides 21st Century skills through academics, social and emotional learning, and physical and multicultural skills.
Applicants for the School Board vacancy must be, on the date of election or appointment:
+ a United States Citizen
+ at least 18 years of age
+ a registered voter
+ a resident of Illinois and the District for at least one year immediately preceding the election.
For at least one year immediately preceding the appointment, a School Board Member must:
+ Be a registered voter.
+ Not be a child sex offender.
+ Not hold another incompatible public office.
+ Not have a prohibited interest in any contract with the District.
+ Not hold certain types of prohibited State or federal employment.
Applicants should show familiarity with the Board's policies regarding general duties and responsibilities of a School Board and a School Board member, including fiduciary responsibilities, conflict of interest, ethics and gift ban. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
-Superior work habits
-Must be able to work without direct supervision
-Possess or have the ability to obtain CDL Operator’s license with required endorsements
-Must be 21 years of age or older.
-Must possess valid driver’s license for 3 years or longer.
-Must pass a background check and drug test and physical examination
REPORTS TO Superintendent/Transportation Director
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
-Safely transport students and district personnel.
-Understand and follow street signs, maps, and directions.
-Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections.
-Cooperate and communicate with school personnel, parents and students.
-Assist with loading and unloading of students as needed.
-Maintain the bus, including sweeping, dusting and cleaning windows, and cleaning the outside of the school bus.
-Conduct evacuations of the bus in the event of an emergency.
-Attend all in-services and meetings on safety procedures.
-Perform tort risk management duties as set forth in the District’s Risk Management Plan, including maintenance and regular inspection of the legal and safe conditions of school bus, attend training in the legal and safe operation of buses, inspect vehicles, both for legally required state inspections and for provisions for maintaining risk free student and employee operating conditions, keeping vehicles safe for the safety of students, employees, and district property, inspecting prior to each run the bus to ensure that the vehicle is free from any situation that would create a risk, and perform other tort duties that may be assigned from time to time.

ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
-Physical requirements will be governed under the Americans with Disabilities Act.
-Must pass an annual physical requirement and meet the physical requirements of the position as required by state law.
-Must be able to speak, hear, see, and write.
-Tasks require extensive use of hands including repetitive gripping, grasping, lifting and manipulation of tools, etc. and the ability to ambulate independently and lift significant weight and sized items.
Hours will include 20+ hours per week and starting pay is $21.00/hr.
