
School District Lebanon CUSD #9 Board Member Vacancy
Lebanon CUSD #9 is accepting applications to fill a vacancy resulting from a resignation. The term will be from the date of appointment through April 2029 elections.
At LCUSD #9, we believe that education should take place in a fully inclusive environment with equal opportunities for all students and promote high expectations and academic success. This success will be accomplished by the dedicated staff which provides 21st Century skills through academics, social and emotional learning, and physical and multicultural skills.
Applicants for the School Board vacancy must be, on the date of election or appointment:
+ a United States Citizen
+ at least 18 years of age
+ a registered voter
+ a resident of Illinois and the District for at least one year immediately preceding the
election.
For at least one year immediately preceding the appointment, a School Board Member must:
+ Be a registered voter.
+ Not be a child sex offender.
+ Not hold another incompatible public office.
+ Not have a prohibited interest in any contract with the District.
+ Not hold certain types of prohibited State or federal employment.
Applicants should show familiarity with the Board's policies regarding general duties and responsibilities of a School Board and a School Board member, including fiduciary responsibilities, conflict of interest, ethics and gift ban. ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
A. INSTRUCTIONAL EFFECTIVENESS
Acts as a case load manager for IEP
Participates in IEP meetings as requested
Prepares to share student progress, as well as recommend program goals and objectives.
Implement and oversee the management of and compliance with students’ IEPs
Modifies the general education curriculum for students with disabilities based upon a variety of instructional techniques and technologies.
Communicates expectations for high levels of learning by students.
Regularly assess students’ knowledge and skills.
Specifies lesson purposes and learning objectives and tailors to students’ IEPs
Provides learning tasks of appropriate difficulty level for the students.
Relates new content to previously presented material and to students’ prior knowledge.
Teaches clearly, audibly, precisely and fluently while keeping to the topic.
Instructs with a variety of methods: lecture, modeling, demonstrating, experimenting, role playing, eliciting.
Teaches accurate principles, concepts, rationale, and applications as well as specific content.
Provides students with immediate feedback on their learning, performance, and progress.
Requires students to recall, explain, compare, contrast and evaluate information.
Provides students with immediate and appropriate feedback on their learning, performance and progress.
Re-teaches as necessary.
Summarizes the main points of the lesson, brings closure, and explains what will be taught next.
Encourages student input for improvement of instruction.
B. ORGANIZATIONAL AND MANAGEMENT SKILLS
Establishes procedures for routine classroom management matters, communicates those procedures to students, and elicits feedback from students regarding their understanding of those procedures.
Employs special educational strategies and techniques during instruction to improve the development.

Prepares and completes lesson plans at least the week prior to delivering the instruction and ensures substitute folders are current and include, at a minimum, lesson plans, seating charts, classroom rules/procedures and other information the Building Principal requires.

Teaches socially acceptable behavior.
Starts students on tasks quickly and assures efficient transitions between activities.
Maintains a high level of time-on-task for all students.
Monitors student behavior continuously, encouraging appropriate behavior and addresses inappropriate behavior.
Perform tort risk management duties as set forth in the District’s Risk Management Plan, including identifying and implementing techniques to reduce liability exposure and to monitor the effectiveness of the implemented techniques while overseeing the District’s compliance with special education issues, and other tort duties that may be assigned

Interacts with students in a mutually respectful manner.
Expresses verbal enthusiasm for the lesson and student participation.

ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Physical requirements will be governed under the Americans With Disabilities Act. Must be able to lift, push or pull up to 20 pounds on a regular basis.
Must be able to speak, hear, see, and write.
Tasks require extensive use of hands including repetitive gripping, grasping, lifting and manipulation of equipment necessary to perform duties.

Dear Greyhound Family,
We’re excited to announce the upcoming launch of a special project to enhance the area surrounding our greenhouse! Bryan Reising is leading this initiative to transform the space into a beautiful, welcoming environment for our community.
Please refer to the attached document for an overview of the project. The layout includes sections labeled A through L, each representing a designated area around the greenhouse. These spaces will feature flower gardens, benches, trees, a pavilion with picnic tables, and plant beds.
Each designated area will include a commemorative plaque acknowledging the individual or group behind the donation, or honoring the memory of a loved one. Pricing details for each space are included in the attachment.

What is a Paraprofessional?
A paraprofessional is a specially trained and certified educational worker who helps teachers and students in the classroom. They provide instructional support to teachers and students, helping them understand and learn different subjects like math, science, English, and social studies. Paraprofessionals are a valuable part of the education process. They help to ensure that instruction is efficient and effective by providing support in several ways. Their main responsibilities involve assisting with instruction, providing support during testing, working with students with special needs, managing classrooms, and generally bringing positive energy into the learning environment. Paraprofessionals may also help with other tasks such as grading papers, preparing materials for lessons, supervising students during lunch or recess, or providing guidance to students who need extra help. They are an important part of the school’s staff and play an essential role in helping create a safe learning environment for all students.

Registers students new to the school and orients them to school procedures and the school’s varied opportunities for learning.
Aids students in course and subject selection.
Obtains and disseminates occupational information to students.
Maintains student records and protects their confidentiality.
Works to provide students opportunities in lieu of dropping out.
Provides student information to colleges and potential employers according to provisions of the Board of Education policy on student records.
Coordinate and assist in scheduling college visits and job shadowing opportunities.
Works with students on an individual basis in the solution of personal problems related to such problems as home and family relations, health, and emotional adjustment
Assists with coordination, analysis and dissemination of information for state and local testing and assessment programs.
Confers with parents whenever necessary.
Supports students to reintegrate into the classrooms/schools after disciplinary action.
Maintains an updated document outlining counselor information and support to provide to families and the community.
Offers guidance and information as related to different career paths and fields of study.
Consults with administration on creation of master schedule.
Provide classroom (library time) lessons for developmental and success needs of students and build conflict resolution skills in students.
