Lebanon CUSD #9 is accepting applications to fill a vacancy resulting from a resignation from the Board of Education. The term will be from the date of appointment through April 2025 elections. At LCUSD #9, we believe that education should take place in a fully inclusive environment with equal opportunities for all students and promote high expectations and academic success.This success will be accomplished by the dedicated staff which provides 21st Century skills through academics, social and emotional learning, and physical and multicultural skills. Applicants for the School Board vacancy must be, on the date of election or appointment: a United States citizen at least 18 years of age a registered voter a resident of Illinois and the District for at least one year immediately preceding the election For at least one year immediately preceding the appointment, a School Board Members must: Be a registered voter. Not be a child sex offender. Not hold another incompatible public office. Not have a prohibited interest in any contract with the District. Not hold certain types of prohibited State or federal employment. Applicants should show familiarity with the Board's policies regarding general duties and responsibilities of a School Board and a School Board member, including fiduciary responsibilities, conflict of interest, ethics and gift ban. Reminder that Coach Seely has jh boys basketball open gyms in the grade school gym on Tuesday and Wednesday nights from 7:00-8:30 pm for any 5th-8th grade boys who are interested in basketball this winter. Coach needs to have better attendance in order to keep having open gyms, so come to the school to train with coach, it will make a big difference by the start of the season!

We will have our parent/player/coach meeting on Tuesday Aug 1st at 7:00 in the hs gym for the following fall sports: HS Volleyball, HS Soccer, HS/JH Cross Country.
If your son/daughter is planning on playing one of these sports you need to attend. Practices will start on Monday Aug 7th. Make sure you have logged into the PowerSchool portal and fill out the athletic paperwork and download and updated physical and log into myschoolbucks to pay the sports fee $60 for hs sports in order to be able to practice Aug 7th. Junior high cross country does not pay a sports fee as it is still considered a club team.
Also JH baseball practice will be tomorrow July 31st from 8am-11am. JH Softball practice will be tomorrow 9am-11am.
Please bring plenty of water to practice.

If you are planning for your student to ride the school bus - this includes our regular routes and our pay bus routes - you MUST get signed up on the enrollment forms! All 5th-8th grade boys who are going to come out for junior high baseball, next week you have your parent/player/coach meeting on Tuesday at 7:00 in the hs gym. Then starting on Wednesday July 19th, Coach Nelson will have baseball practice from 8am-11am and this will also happen on Thursday July 20th and Friday July 21st at the same times. Then Coach Nelson will be gone for a week, so practices will start back up on Monday July 31st at 8:00 AM.
Athletes must have their online athletic paperwork turned in and a current athletic physical to participate on Wednesday July 19th. $40 sports fee must be paid by the July 31st practice date or your athlete cannot participate on the 31st. Remember this can be paid in the high school office or on the myschoolbucks app where you pay school fees.

What is a Paraprofessional?
A paraprofessional is a specially trained and certified educational worker who helps teachers and students in the classroom. They provide instructional support to teachers and students, helping them understand and learn different subjects like math, science, English, and social studies.
Paraprofessionals are a valuable part of the education process. They help to ensure that instruction is efficient and effective by providing support in several ways. Their main responsibilities involve assisting with instruction, providing support during testing, working with students with special needs, managing classrooms, and generally bringing positive energy into the learning environment.
Paraprofessionals may also help with other tasks such as grading papers, preparing materials for lessons, supervising students during lunch or recess, or providing guidance to students who need extra help. They are an important part of the school’s staff and play an essential role in helping create a safe learning environment for all students.
Starting on Wednesday July 19th any 5th grade thru 8th grade boys who are interested in playing basketball for the junior high team this year can come to open gym in the grade school gym from 7:00-8:30 with Coach Seely. Coach will have these on every Tuesday and Wednesday through August(except during open house)
Lebanon CUSD #9 Registration for new and returning students for the 2023-24 school year is open and will run thru July 21, 2023. ALL students in the district will have to register and provide the 3 items of residency. Registration will take place online thru our PowerSchool student system. You will be able to find information on registration on our school website at www.lcusd9.org by clicking on the box labeled 2023-24 Registration . All instructions will be provided in that link. Parents will be asked to update all enrollment forms, provide residency, provide health forms and make school payments at this time. Again, this is for ALL students, new and returning.
