Pre-K Screenings will be held on May 31st and June 2nd from 9-2:30 at LES. Call the elementary school office at (618) 537-4553 for an appointment. The screening is free and available to all preschool age children who will not be eligible to attend Kindergarten in the fall and will be three (3) years old on or before September 1, 2022. The screening lasts approximately one hour.

There is still time to sign up for the blood drive this Friday, March 25. The drive is from 9:00am to 2:00pm in the high school gym. You can register to give blood at bloodcenter.org/group using the group code 10756. Students need to be 16 with parent permission or 17 and older to donate. Guests will be asked to sign-in in the office.

Lebanon Junior High Bowlers season came to an end at States today. Both the girl's and boy's team finished 15th out of 18 teams that qualified for States. Jacob Suydam finished T26 with a 159 average on the day. He had 6 consecutive strikes in game 3 and finished with a team high 209! Ben Kittstein, our lone 8th grader, finished in 34th. First year bowler, Karsyn Bertelsman was the highest finisher for the girls landing in 30th, while Sophi Joshu finished in 33rd. Special shout out to Isis Warren. This 5th grader bowled 4 out of 6 games (having never bowled that many games before) and she averaged 120 on the day - bowling her 4 personal best games, finishing 40 pins over her average! 8 of the 11 were new bowlers - which means we were very young. We gained a lot of important experience and cheered each other on to the end. It was a great season, just making States was our goal and they achieved that and then some. For anyone with children at LES in the 1st through 4th grade - we will be conducting bowling intramurals March 31st through April to introduce them to the great sport of bowling! Thanks to my coaches, Cheyenne Pinkstaff and Marsha Shirley and all the parents and supporters - you are awesome!

This is a reminder that we have a half day early dismissal at 11:15 AM on Friday, March 18th. I am asking that all car riding students are picked-up on time. We had a large amount of students remaining last week following our early dismissal. Teachers have a short amount of time to prepare for parent/teacher conferences. Please respect their time and efforts.
Parent/Teacher conferences will be from 12:15-2:45. Teachers' schedules are just about filled-up. Please do not show up for a conference if you have not yet communicated with the office to schedule a time. Let me know if you have any questions regarding this communication. Thank you.

Since 1970, the Illinois State Board of Education has sponsored Those Who Excel to honor individuals who have made significant contributions to our state's public and nonpublic elementary and secondary schools. Awards are presented in five categories: school administrator, student support personnel, educational service personnel, community volunteer and teams. Nomination materials are evaluated by a selection committee comprised of individuals who represent a variety of educational organizations.

The Golden Owl Award® allows us to also extend our support to agricultural educators who devote countless hours, and often their own resources, to positively impact the lives of their students.
With the Golden Owl Award, students, fellow teachers and other supporters can nominate their favorite agricultural teacher and summarize what makes him or her the best in their state. Nominees can win the distinction of being their state’s Agricultural Educator of the Year and the following prizes:
$500 and an engraved plaque to each honoree
$3,000 and the coveted Golden Owl Award trophy to each state’s grand prize winner (Agricultural Educator of the Year)
In conjunction with the Golden Owl Award, Nationwide is donating $5,000 to each participating state’s FFA to further support the personal and professional growth of students, teachers and advisors alike.

Yearbook will be taking pictures of senior athletes that are involved in baseball, softball and track tomorrow (Tuesday) morning 1st hour
Yearbook will also take team photos of baseball, softball and track right after school tomorrow.
So all players need to bring their uniforms tomorrow for those 3 sports

Junior high coed soccer practice starts today. Practice times will be from 3:30-5:30 Monday thru Thursday this week. Students in grades 5th-8th are eligible. Everyone must have a current athletic physical and all athletic forms turned in to the office. Forms can be picked up at the high school office and the grade school office. Sports fee is $40 and needs to be paid this week. If you pay online, there may not be a drop down for soccer, you can put it as track and I will get it sorted out.
If you have turned in athletic forms already for another sport that you played this year, you do not have to turn them in again, but you do need to make sure your physical is up to date
If you are in bowling or volleyball, you will finish that sport first and then come the next day to soccer after you have your last match or practice.
