Position Overview
Lebanon CUSD #9 is seeking a visionary, student-centered leader to serve as the Principal for our Elementary School. We are looking for an administrator who is passionate about fostering a positive school culture, driving academic excellence, and supporting the unique developmental needs of students from Pre-K through 5th grade.
The successful candidate will lead a dedicated staff, engage with a supportive community, and oversee the daily operations of our elementary school building.


Key Responsibilities
● Instructional Leadership: Lead the implementation of high-quality curriculum and innovative instructional practices to improve student outcomes.
● School Culture: Maintain a safe, inclusive, and disciplined learning environment that promotes the social and emotional well-being of all students.
● Staff Development: Conduct formal and informal evaluations and provide ongoing mentorship to certified and non-certified staff .
● Community Engagement: Act as a primary liaison between the school, parents, and the Lebanon community; attend and supervise extracurricular activities/athletic events.
● Administrative Management: Oversee the building budget, master scheduling, and compliance with state and federal regulations.


Qualifications
● Certification: Must hold a valid Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with a General Administrative (Type 75) or Principal Endorsement.
● Education: Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership or a related fi eld.
● Experience: Previous administrative experience (Assistant Principal or Principal) is preferred; background in special education is preferred; strong classroom teaching background is required.
● Skills: Exceptional communication, conflict resolution, and data-informed decision-making skills.


Compensation & Benefits
● Salary Range: $78,000-$90,000 (Commensurate with education and experience).
Contract: 10 or 11 Month Contract (Negotiable)

We are excited to announce that the 3rd Annual Lebanon Volleyball Camp will be held June 8–11 from 5:00–7:00 PM in the high school gym.

This camp is open to all students entering grades 5th–12th for the 2026–2027 school year. We also welcome participants from outside the Lebanon school district, so please feel free to share this opportunity with friends, family, or anyone interested in developing their volleyball skills this summer.

We are especially excited to share that we have partnered with the McKendree University Women’s Volleyball Team, whose players and coaches will be in attendance each day to assist with drills and provide valuable instruction and insight.

Last year, we welcomed over 30 campers, and we are looking forward to an even bigger and better experience this summer!
