Good morning LCUSD#9 families,
Believe it or not, Friday was the mid-quarter point for the first grading period. The vast majority of our Greyhounds are off to an extremely strong start matching the energy and enthusiasm that our staff has shown. Thank you to our students and staff for such a positive start to the new school year. I would like to encourage our parents/guardians to keep a close eye on their studentās academic progress. Mid-quarter grades should be available to view in PowerSchool by the end of the day Friday.
This week, we have our first half day school improvement planning day on Wednesday. Please be reminded that LJHS/LHS students will be dismissed at 11am and LES students will be dismissed at 11:15am on Wednesday. The same thing will happen on the last day of the first grading period, which is Friday, October 10th.
This month I decided to try something new, and I have attached a preview of my September Superintendentās Report to the Board of Education for families to see. It may change in the next 10 days, but for right now this is the information I will be communicating this month at our September 25th Board of Education meeting.
In a few weeks weāll be celebrating homecoming week. Donāt forget to check out the parade, soccer, and volleyball games on Thursday, October 2nd. Weād love to see lots of school spirit in our schools and community that week! Additional details are listed below under important dates and information.
Iāll continue sending monthly updates throughout the school year to keep you informed about district-wide news, highlights, and important dates. You should also be hearing regularly from your childās teachers and building principals with more timely and specific updates. School Times for the 2025-2026 School Year
LJHS/LHS - 7:45-2:38 (7:45-1:15 on Wednesdays) - 11:00am on Ā½ Days
LES - 8:00-2:45 (8:00-1:30 on Wednesdays) - 11:15am on Ā½ Days
School Fees
School fees for the 2025-2026 school year have changed and are found on the registration page on the district website. These fees should be paid on My School Bucks or by dropping a check off in the office at your earliest convenience.
Important Health Information & Reminders
All Kindergarten, Sixth Grade, and Ninth Grade students (along with any students who are new to the district) will need to have a current physical and immunizations on file for the 25-26 school year.
All Kindergarten, Second Grade, Sixth Grade, and Ninth Grade students will need to have a current dental exam on file for the 25-26 school year.
Please make sure to get all physicals, immunization records, and dental exams to the school nurse as soon as possible!
